February 9, 2010 - 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM Northern California Chapter Monthly Meeting Why Movement Matters More Than [What] You Think by Ginny Whitelaw, Ph.D., Founder of Focus Leadership, LLC
Leadership is harder than ever and the business climate is tougher than ever. Our clients and leaders are facing a radically changed world. Daily crises and uncertainty raise doubts about growth while complexity and raging speed are the "new normal." Most of our familiar business models are upended and organizations downsized, with those who remain experiencing unprecedented emotional and physical stress. Leaders who can manage their energy and bring the right energy to the right time will add their greatest value in this business climate. Those of us who help them move toward their whole capacity as leaders will also be adding our greatest value as coaches. Applying the right energy at the right time when we all have well-developed patterns of personality requires the mind and body to work together. Ginny has developed an innovative somatic method to do this based on four energy patterns grounded in the nervous system. You will: - See how performance can be enhanced through appropriate use of four energy patterns.
- Experience why each pattern is essential, and what happens when it’s used at the wrong time.
- Practice coaching with the patterns, and how to help clients access weak patterns for better performance.
- Learn a simple, unforgettable language that connects body, mind, behaviors, outcomes, and the climates and cultures of teams, organizations, even societies.
- Have fun with a new somatic experience.

February 9, March 9 and April 13, 2010 ***EVENT SOLD OUT*** Special Event (Three 2-hour learning labs) A Learning Laboratory: Transformational Coaching with the Enneagram by Donna Fowler and Benjamin Saltzman
Clients want something to shift quickly and to realize tangible results in a few sessions. Is there a way to accelerate the relationship with your client so that you can gain trust, understand the problem they face, and open them to a new way of seeing or being right away? Using the Enneagram in your coaching can help you create that early shift, and open up new ways for you and your client to explore continuous growth and improvement. Through this interactive Learning Lab, you will: - Watch as a coach helps a client discover their Enneagram type.
- Observe ongoing work as the client receives two coaching sessions focused on their type related issues. Coaching demonstrations are followed by a “Mind Map” debrief in which the Master Coach describes what they were thinking at key moments.
- Make your coaching precise and powerful by using the Enneagram for deep-level coaching interventions.
In this series of three 2-hour learning labs, Donna and Benjamin will demonstrate the typing interview and transformational coaching using the Enneagram in live time. Benjamin Saltzman and Donna Fowler have been using the Enneagram in their coaching practices for over a decade. They have developed the Deep-Level Change Coaching Model which has led to major changes in their clients’ lives.
Together they founded TCE – Transformational Coaching with the Enneagram (www.enneagramcoachtraining.com ), an organization committed to providing tools, training, and online products for coaches, therapists, mentors and other “helping” professionals. Their foundational training is the six-day “Transformational Coaching with the Enneagram Intensive,” where they teach students to use the Deep-Level Change Coaching Model in conjunction with the Enneagram.
The Coaching with the Enneagram Lab will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. for three consecutive months on February 9, March 9 and April 13, 2010 (prior to the PCMA meetings). Cost for the entire series is $75, and limited to 18 PCMA Members only. The February meeting will be held at the Westin, San Francisco Airport in Millbrae; March and April’s sessions will be held at the Hotel Monaco in San Francisco. To preserve the continuity of the group learning experience, please be sure you can commit to all three sessions before registering. Registration via the PCMA website will begin at 9:00 AM January 13th and end after the first 18 people have registered. We expect the event to sell out very quickly! Donna and Ben are powerful coaches and masterful teachers and we are grateful that they will providing this great opportunity for our PCMA Members.
