February 3, 2010 LOS ANGELES Monthly Meeting & Presentation Enhancing Your Effectiveness as a Coach through the Power of The World Café Process by Ann McCloskey, Executive Coach and Consultant
Ann McCloskey, a coach and business consultant who has inspired leaders and organizations with the “courage to create the future”, will take us through a conversational process called World Café. World Café successfully employs an innovative, yet simple methodology for intentionally harnessing the power of conversations about questions that matter. These conversations link and build upon each other as people move between groups, cross-pollinate ideas, and discover new insights into the questions or issues that are most relevant in their life, work, or community. As a process, the World Café model has the potential to both stimulate and capitalize on the collective intelligence of any group, thus increasing an individual’s capacity for effective action in pursuit of common goals. Join Ann McCloskey as she guides our community through this participative process in exploring the question: “What one question, if answered fully, would move you forward as a coach?” As part of this process you will have the opportunity to explore this question for yourself, along with your colleagues, in order to better understand how to enhance your effectiveness as a coach and discover what our shared intelligence believes will advance our collective capabilities. February 24, 2010 - 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM PASADENA Chapter Monthly Meeting & Presentation Pasadena Chapter Meeting: How to Build Rapport with (Practically) Anyone Rapport creates the conversational container for influence—learning, selling, or leading. As coaches we know the importance of having rapport with our clients and our sponsors. Establishing rapport is an unconscious process, hard wired in humans from infancy. Yet there is a structure to rapport which gives people a greater range of choice in building relationships. The structure consists of micro-moves which you can learn and teach so that you or your clients can consciously deepen rapport with practically anyone. And there is an attitude of influence without which eventual “buyer’s remorse” is guaranteed. In this playful, insightful, and experiential evening you’ll explore your unconscious gifts of rapport building so you and your clients can be more intentional and powerful influencers both personally and professionally. You’ll learn/experience: - The micro-moves of rapport
- The macro-move without which lasting influence is not possible
- How to test your level of rapport before influencing
- How to break rapport with the least negative impact
- How to determine when getting rapport is just not worth it
