No one will argue with you when you say that the world is increasingly diverse and the global village is at your front door. The question is: Are leaders prepared to lead in this increasingly complex and diverse world? Are you ready to help them?

Your client organizations may talk about their diversity mission and policy and they may have invested in a lot of diversity training. But are they truly diverse? Are you?

If you are busy treating your clients as individuals, have you overlooked their group identities and the impact of this omission? Just because women often act like men, people of color often act like whites, and let’s make sure everyone speaks English, in order to get ahead in the world, can you assume they are all just individuals and the norms should work for everyone?

After working as a coach for a while, have you stopped paying attention to what you don’t know? How much of your work has been in collusion with your client so that they can stay the same while you think you are an agent of change?

In order to help your client become multiculturally versatile and globally competent, you first have to get yourself ready, by looking deeply into the mirror. At the end of this program, you will have:

  • raised awareness of your group identities and how they shape who you are
  • increased your understanding of dominant and subordinated group power dynamics
  • acquired a broader appreciation for the dimension of diversity
  • expanded your definition of leadership
  • learned how to use your “self” to help your client navigate between maintaining and challenging the organization status quo

For the last 20 years, Ms. Young has worked with FORTUNE 500 clients to develop vision and strategies to manage “change” in their businesses worldwide. She coaches and develops globally competent and multiculturally versatile leaders individually and in teams, so that they can help mold a new organization that is open to and capable of fully utilizing the “diversity” of its people and responding to the needs of its customers in the U.S. and in the world Ms. Young is uniquely qualified in the coaching and development of the “Whole Person” leadership. Ms. Young has a MBA in Marketing from Michigan State University and a MA in Counseling Psychology from Pepperdine University.
